We got engaged on Christmas Day 2007 and right away began our planning!  Without a second thought, we chose to have the Big Day in Beaumont on September 13, 2008 !  As time passed, planning went off without a hitch.  The week before the wedding, we got word of Hurricane Ike in the Gulf (we live in Tennessee so we had to get the news from relatives).  We drove into Austin to wait it out and see where the hurricane was going!  On Thursday, September 11 we made the difficult decision to cancel the ceremony - but not the wedding.  We searched out a little chapel in Dallas, Texas (where our family evacuated to) and on September 13 we got married with 40 of our closet friends and family members in attendance!  Of course, we still wanted to have a celebration, so on January 17, 2009 we were able to renew our vows in the church and have the reception we had been dreaming of!  Lots of thanks to all of our vendors and our families for working with us and making it a wonderful day!
