The bi-annual trade show is the ultimate one stop shopping opportunity and offers a fantastic selection of wedding goods and services. There's even a fashion show to expose brides to the latest in bridal attire.
Admission is $8 at advance and $10 at the door. Advance tickets can be purchased at Mathews Jewelers in Beaumont, Cindy's Bridal in Vidor, and J & J Monogramming in Lumberton.

where to get the good stuff

He said, "will you?" & you said, "yes." Now what? Start planning of course! It can be very overwhelming to plan your own wedding. To keep the wedding planning fun, consider hiring a professional wedding planner to do the sweat work for you. You let her know what you have in mind & she gets to work. You still have a say in the planning, but you'll save yourself loads of stress in the end.
Wedding planners pop in & out of the scene all the time. There are 3 new planners in our area that you should consider giving a call:
  1. Marissa Sellers of Glass Slipper Events: www.glassslipperevents.net
  2. Summer Tallina of All About You Weddings: allaboutyou_weddings@yahoo.com
  3. Beyond Engagements: www.beyondengagements.com

Meet Nicole the Budget Bride

Nicole & Dan were high school friends. Life went on in separate ways for both, but then several years after graduation, their lives have come together once again. This time, their friendship was rekindled with a touch of romance. As fate would have it (they promised if neither of them were married by age 30, they would marry each other), the two will seal their vows on May 24th, 2008. Dan & Nicole are big on making the event special without breaking the bank. Here are a few of the ways they are saving money:
  • Nicole designed her invitations.
  • Instead of hiring a professional florist, Nicole & her bridesmaids are having a bouquet party the day before the wedding. They'll get to spend time together while making their own bouquets.
  • Dan's mother, a talented hobby photographer, took their engagement photos. Free!
  • Decorations are minimal. They are getting married at the beautiful Tyrrell Park Botanical Garden. Nature is their stage.
  • Guest list is around 25... just close friends & family
  • Reception will be an intimate dinner at Bistro Lemonde
  • Planned wedding on a $2500ish budget
